February – A Poem & A Sweater
Maybe my Gift of a Year is starting to sink in – since this gift arrived last week while driving Ella to school. Plus, I finally finished the baby’s birthday sweater. Sweet. February I saw it this morning – the dark clouds mounting the sky, and the sun climbing up anyway. The wind that blew ...

Yarn Along – The Gift of a Year
A few weeks ago, I saw this book on someone’s shelf. It jumped out at me, and I immediately wrote down the title, and ordered it from the library. The Gift of a Year. I don’t want to say too much about it, because the book says it so well itself. The Gift of a ...

One Year Old
On Christmas Day, this baby turned one year old! We spent the week before sick with the flu, so my dreams of finishing handknit sweaters ended quickly, but I did manage to finish this vest, inspired by my friend Kyce’s super cute baby vest. Per her instructions, I cast on what seemed like the right ...

Yarn Along – Plain Pickles & Yoga
Joining Ginny for Yarn Along . . . (Sorry for the dark photo – I’ve got to remember to take my yarn along shots earlier in the day!) I’m about halfway done with Gabriel’s Plain Pickles cardigan – the body and one sleeve are finished. It’s been nice and easy, just as I’d hoped, and ...

Not solved climate change, or fixed ...

Nine Months
I’ve been terribly lax about posting baby photos, I know. Gabriel is nine months old today! He remains a total peach, and it cracks me up that in this photo you can’t see his red hair at all, since that’s what everyone oohs and aahs over in real life. He is on the move – ...

Little Aprons
If you’ve been at Wheatberry recently, you may have noticed we have a pint-sized employee. Her name is Ella (aka Lucy), and her favorite jobs include scrubbing the floor and serving customers. She made her apron herself (one of our projects from Sewing School). (And thanks to Mika for the fabric, which we adore!)
Remember: The Red Bowl
Time to remind myself of this, and thought perhaps you’d like a reminder, too. Blessings on your weekend, friends. The Red Bowl Taking the dog for a walk after work, you smell wild grapes. (Always the question: What more could you want?) It is the second day of fall. You see the dog’s breath and ...

Yarn Along – the first Molly Curly Sweater
Joining Ginny for Yarn Along . . . At last, after what seemed like a lot of work deciding on a sweater that I could make for both of my wee ones (it’s always faster to do the same pattern twice, and winter will be here before I know it), I cast on for the ...
