Ten Thousand Pounds

Between this weekend’s distribution and the previous one, we moved Ten Thousand Pounds of local, organically grown grains into the eager hands of our CSA members.  There were over 200 people in my living room and kitchen Saturday afternoon scooping their shares, there were five fantastic folks helping us make it all possible, and one sweet toddler happily demonstrating the new electric mill by her daddy’s side.  We’re a little tired, but very, very happy.

YAY! It’s feels *so* good to have gotten all that grain out to everyone. And very gratifying to have people oooh and ahhhh over the beans that we worked SO hard on! THANKS EVERYONE!

I am thrilled to have my grain for the year! Thank you for all the hard work you put into bringing the grains and beans to us grateful CSA members.

Since we got a full share this year, I’m looking into buying a home grain mill for myself. Do you have any recommendations for good home-sized mills?

A bit late in saying a huge thank you! 10,000 pounds is a staggering amount. So many thanks to you, your family, the volunteers, and everyone who helps make this local grain possible. Congratulations on a successful year!

    Caroline,
We really love the Komo mills that Pleasant Hill Grain started carrying – electric, stone ground, and beautiful. Some other members also like the Country Living mill. Enjoy!
