Decadent Brownies & Local Ice Cream
There’s a lot of new excitement at Wheatberry these days . . .

Decadent Brownies made with Taza Chocolate and topped with Taza Chocolate-Covered Nibs. Why is Taza so incredible? They buy their chocolate directly from the growers, then stone-grind it right in Somerville, MA. Perhaps most delicious is what they don’t add – no corn syrup, no soy lecithin, no junk fillers. So this really tastes like chocolate – deep, earthy tones like coffee or wine. Yum!

Wonderful new books from local publishing house Storey Books – including the cheesemaking book we use to make our cafe cream cheese, The Locavore Way by a CSA member, and our favorite gardening book ever. Gardening, canning, cheesemaking, oh my!

The Pioneer Valley’s first truly local ice cream – Maple Valley Ice Cream, churned with rGBH-free milk right on their Hadley dairy farm, and in a bunch of delicious flavors, including Maple Nut, and local Strawberry. (I must tell you it’s very dangerous having a freezer stocked with this! Ahem.)

We’re crafting a wonderful summer special sandwich, featuring soy sauce glazed turnips fresh from our garden, local organic spinach, and Berkshire Blue Cheese.

And I finished a big batch of bandanas for our staff, with aprons and another big project still in the works.
Well, there’s a taste of the summer fun at Wheatberry - hope to see you soon! (Did I mention the crazy yummy brownies and ice cream? I just realized I haven’t eaten them together yet . . .)

You look very fetching in your splendid bandanna.
And it looks like there’s much that’s new at Wheatberry! Lily and I must stop by soon.
Oh my, those brownies sound absolutely incredible. I love reading your blog for the words and the photos and the local updates! Kudos on carrying local ice cream! I may need to stop by and grab that gardening book as a present for my dad’s birthday – it would be perfect. Thank you for the update!
Those brownies made my mouth water! And, I love the bandana.
Thanks for the shout out for Storey’s books. They look right at home on the shelves at Wheatberry!
