June!

Before you do anything else, hop over to Rhythm of the Home’s Summer Edition, where I wrote an article on loving your mother – Earth!
(our family, according to Ella: from the left, Ella “with stripes”, Ben “with a beard”, and me “with little feet”)
There’s so much happening it’s hard to find a moment here, but there’s also a lot to say! June 1st is Ben and I’s 7 year wedding anniversary, this week is the one-year birthday of this blog (wow!), and on Sunday our daughter turns three. Plus lots of family visiting! Whew. So – take a look through the past year while you’re here. It was a pretty incredible year – we got a draft horse, and then he let himself into our living room. We brought home two big ewes in the back of a Subaru. We harvested a whole lot of beautiful grains, and we got them to our first CSA members. We made some aprons, and some sweaters. We renewed our commitments to buy less, and we starting washing our laundry and dishes by hand. And, you know, a few other things! So, enjoy friends, and I’ll be here soon.

Adrie, congratulations on seven years of marriage! How special. I wish you so may more wonderful years ahead.
Also, thank you for your contribution to the magazine. We were so excited to have you, and your piece is incredible. Hope you have a great week ahead
What an inspiring blog. I found you through Rhythm of the Home. Wonderful article!
Yay! What a wonderful piece you wrote for Rhythm of the Home, and so many wonderful things to celebrate this month.
And I’m still laughing about the picture of you and your little feet.
Congrats on your article! Off to read it now!

Oh my gosh! Back to comment that your article was lovely, you are beautiful, and I giggled with pleasure when I saw Ella’s sandbox photo. I have been collecting logs to create a log perimeter sandbox for my kids, although I was thinking to prop them upright! We have a tiny plastic one now, but both kids are sand loving, so I wanted a bigger one, wood, recycled if possible. My only concern is a cover (our neighbor has 7 cats and we have 6 chickens), but I think I have that sorted out mentally too now. Soon…execution!
Warmly, Nicola
I really loved your Rhythm of the Home article and I’m so glad that I found your blog!
Lovely words form a wise, earth loving mama. You article was pure joy.
