Monday Night Menu – April 5

Hello everyone – hope your weekend was as warm and sunny as ours. It’s been so warm that Cole has his new coat, and looks all silvery white. We planted peas, started more seeds, helped a wee friend celebrate her birthday, and built a chicken tractor (mostly). Oh yes, and tried to rest.
From last week’s menu, we really loved the Rye Berry Cabbage Soup – can’t wait to have more for lunch tomorrow. We had the Rotolo of Chicken with the Oat Pilaf on the side, and the next day ate them for lunch all mixed up together. Super yummy. It’s really interesting to have oats in savory dishes – they work so well!
Here’s our menu for the week:
* Sausage, Potatoes, and Cabbage (from Full Moon Feast by Jessica Prentice – such a great one-pot meal.)
* Green Soup (from Love Soup by Anna Thomas – gotta use up all that kale in my freezer somehow!)
* Pork Country Ribs posole style with black beans on the side (using the posole recipe from Whole Grains Every Day by Lorna Sass, and dent corn from our share)
* Squash Spelt Casserole with hazelnuts (from Whole Grains Every Day by Lorna Sass)
* I’m going to try out this recipe for sourdough challah
* Tourte Limousine (from Mastering the Art of French Cooking by Julia Child – this sounds insanely yummy and simple – a tart shell, filled with potatoes, baked, then you pour in cream and eggs at the very end. Oh my.)
Bon Appetit everyone!

OK, I think that I got the other comment situation figured out, I have to sign in in order to leave a comment. I just had another blog that this happened with, and for some reason, it was happening to a lot of other readers as well.
Anyway, I love these posts where you give so many wonderful food links. I need to start bookmarking them and going back on Sundays to put my meals together. sorry for the crazy amount of comments that I am leaving, but as I am going back through, I seem to have a lot to say
Heather,
I’m so glad to hear your voice here again! So no worries about too many comments, haha. It’s wonderful. So glad the menus are of help to you.
Best,
Adrie
