Works in Progress Wed – the growing list . . .

The to-do list around here (home, farm and bakery) is getting pretty long. . . in the best sort of way.

A pasture fence to finish, a compost pile to spread

The beginning of shawl for my grandmother – pretty funky yarn, I know, but she’ll totally love it. (And thank you, Mom, for handing down so much amazing yarn from your stash!)  This is the “Simple But Effective Shawl” from Ravelry – be forewarned, Ravelry is addictive, folks.  Like crack.  Or chocolate.  Or Wheatberry scones.

Handmade blocks for Ella (yup, these are scraps from the fence-making project!)

A guest room *almost* ready for my mother’s visit tomorrow

A vintage swap package to wrap and send – all the way to Louanna in New Zealand! (Don’t want to give the surprise away too much.)

Zucchini pickles, which should be finishing their water bath any moment now . . .

Here’s to many pleasurable works in progress, and the balance (hopefully) to not let them overwhelm us.  Wishing you the same.

    Hi swapper friend,
It is very cool that your partner is from New Zealand!
I really enjoyed your post today.

Even though it is quite the list, it sounds so fulfilling. There is something about this time of year that just makes us get ready for the coming winter months ahead. It is always such a busy time, but a good one as well. I can not wait to see your vintage swap contents, and how cool that you have a partner from new Zealand :)

Thank you for your email about advice on bakeries, when I know that it is a go, I will shoot you an email.

what a list! I have a heap of compost to dig in here too, but not as big as that pile thank goodness. How nice to get a mention, and that people think it’s cool to sawp with a New Zealander. I haven’t posted on my blog about the swap yet, I’ll wait till you get my parcel so it’s a surprise.
