of aprons and stones

I did it!  I managed to make one apron for each of our staff members, restraining myself from beginning all those other exciting sewing projects brewing in my mind . . . I want to have two aprons for everyone eventually, but I think I need a little apron respite, as much fun as it’s been.  Here’s Cristie, modeling her new purple apron

katesapronIt was very satisfying to discover that aprons are amazingly simple to make.  The last three I made I didn’t even use a pattern as a guideline, just starting cutting, ironing, and sewing.

Lucky for us, my dad and brother are crazy workaholics, so we’ve been busting out some awesome projects at home, like finishing the stone wall.

And now, I’m off to make the soup du jour at Wheatberry – local organic carrot, fennel, and cilantro.  Yum!
